China Agro-Technology acquires 494,000 acres in Indonesia for jatropha cultivation
On one hand there is alot of bad press around China, involving Tibet, and Human right violations. On the other hand there is a wealth of information that is a little more positive. Here is some news involving biofuels.
"China Agro-Technology has signed an agreement with Boulevard Holdings to acquire 494,200 acres in Indonesia for jatropha cultivation. The company valued the jatropha revenue stream at $300 million based on the expected demand and pricing for jatropha oil, ranging from a projected $650 to $750 per ton. The company expects to commence harvesting in 2010." Maybe this is enough to bring Steven Spielberg back....I wouldn't keep my fingers crossed though.Renewable China
