Karuma Hydroelectric power project to start in 2009 in Uganda

This new Dam in Uganda will help build industry while being a model for renewable energy in Africa.A much needed step in the right direction....

"The dam itself will be located downstream from the Bujagali power project which we reported on last year. It will be on the River Nile. As the engineering design phase is already drawing to a close now the next issue which is being looked at is funding for the project. The funding looks to be a combination of public and private funding with a Norwegian company called Norpark set to join the Ugandan government. In total the project will cost about 450 million USD."
